I had some time waiting for more approved designs here at work today, so I just started sketching in Flash and this little dancing alien showed himself. Little varmint.
Last week, "Tah-Dah" made it into its' 40th film festival. Wowieeee! Since I started working full-time, things have been rather busy, but I am working on a commissioned painting right now, and have a bazillion idears for personal things.... so I will be posting soon! Stay tooned :)
I am currently working as a Character & Prop Colour Artist, and BG Colour Key Assistant on "Pound Puppies", Season 2, at DHX Media Vancouver (Studio B Productions), whilst moonlighting as an illustrator/animator in my spare time. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Animation degree from Sheridan College in April 2009. My thesis short animated film entitled "Tah-Dah" has so far has won two awards for excellence in filmmaking, and has been invited to 42 film festivals around the U.S. & Canada. Before I decided to exchange my corporatey attire for my more funky-esque animation garb, I worked as a graphic/web designer for over five years. Good times! Met heaps of great people and did some really fun work. But animation was calling my name since the ripe ol' age of 6. I thought - life is too short, I gotta see where this crazy dream will lead me! With some twists and turns, tons of supportive and amazing family & friends, lotsa prayer and a whole HEAP of work - here I am! I also love to illustrate children's books, and hope to one day be a Visual Development Artist. Visit staceychomiak.com for more art.
