Let it flow, joe.

Ya know, some days, [it seems more often than not lately!] in life drawing, I just don't feel it. I push through the 3 hours, but I don't feel it come to me. I know it's inside, I can visualize how I want it to look, but it gets lost in translation on its way through my hand and into the conte!

Yesterday though, I really felt like it was a-flowin'! Plus we had this awesome model who was very caricaturable. I am getting to love costumes!

The tough sessions definitely make you appreciate the good ones!

Group film thus far

Here's the latest leica reel we screened at school on Tuesday.
And our narrator Allen is awesome - he was one of the voices on Babar, he rules!

Comments? Questions? Observations??

Pencil sketchin' at life drawing

We have had a sub sitting in for Bobby Chiu the last couple weeks for life drawing, but it's nice to get someone else's take on life drawing. I find it's one of those things that I know I will do all my life, and continually find out new things.

I tried using pencil on regular blank printer paper - here's some 30 second sketches that I kinda liked. And we're doing only costumes now, so that's a whole new heap of fun!

Mix it up!

Pies in the skies

So these last couple weeks back at school have been kinda busy with this whole internship search for this summer... but we are going steady on our group film as well!

Trying to get the design pack locked down; here's some celestial sky designs I came up with. They were fun, and I experimented with some custom Photoshop brushes as well. Me likey stars :) And I did have pumpkin pie tonight [mmmm!], so it isn't only in the sky....

Demo Reel v2 Jan 08

Here's my biggest project over the holidays - rebuilding and updating my current demo reel. I shortened it overall, and cut in some new 3D work, Flash animation & character designs.

It's a constant work in progress, but here is the latest!
[Sorry for the small-ish size - that's blogs for ya!]
