Allen made us proud!

A photo with a few of us Mo-Cap Penguins from our screening last Friday evening - from left to right: Mark, Allen Stewart-Coates [our amazing narrator!], Brock, Rachel and moi. We gave Allen a signed copy of our film poster as a small thanks for his amazing contribution!

Here's the poster that Garrett Hanna did for our group [thanks Garrett!] and some stills from our finished film on our group blog here.

And Brock put together a fun YouTube trailer of some clips of all the finished group films. See that here.

FABULOSO job everyone!! Sheridan Year 3, 07-08, a success for all :)

Hi Stacey,

I just wanted to say how impressed I am with all eight group films this year. Admittedly, I was rather worried about some I had seen at the leica reel stage at the end of first semester. Your team's "Celestial Ox" and "Evil Stevil" seemed to be strongest in terms of communication at that stage, so I wasn't surprised at how good the finished versions of those two turned out to be. I was however, very pleasantly surprised by "Sushi Time" and "Last Strand", both of which I thought had really come together well, showing vast improvement in story over the the initial leica reels.

This has been an unusually strong year at Sheridan in my opinion, what with both the 3rd and 4th Year films showing a marked return to real character-driven animation with much personality. In fact, I purchased the DVDs of both years and have been watching a bunch of the films this evening. I really am quite delighted with what you 3rd Year students have accomplished in your group films and I'm looking forward to seeing your 4th Year solo efforts. You all should be very proud of what you've accomplished. I hope you have a great summer, Stace, with time to relax and have fun - you guys have earned it!

Hey Pete! Thanks once again for your great comment! [I always get excited when I see your name in the comments!]

I totally agree, all eight groups did awesome this year! I am certainly extremely proud of everyone, not just my own group.

And some of the 4th years... wow. It definitely raises the bar as to what I have to aspire to for next year! Hmm. I have the summer to let it all marinate before returning in September.

But first, a few days off and then getting settled into the summer job... which I'm sure will inspire some new sketches :)

Thanks again Pete! Have a great summer yourself!
