Caricaturing the kiddies

Friday evening my motha asked me to come and practice my caricaturing skillz at her young girls group, GEMS. Of course I had to jump at the chance! Here's a couple pics from the eve - it was grand fun - the kiddies thought it was great, and I had tons of fun with them! I especially enjoyed when I was answering questions and drawing one of the girls, they all kept insisting that they draw me next.

And they did. So I had to post them for everyone's enjoyment. May I add that I love that in every one, I look like a boy. And in the last one, I look like a boy with wayward eyeballs.

I love kids!!

That's lovely Stacey! Keep on drawing those cute kids. Of course you have to be careful not to create a monster like I did, having to draw EVERY ONE of my 120 or so 2nd Year students, Heh heh...

I'm glad to see you're keeping up your skills during the summer break. For the record, I got a real good chuckle out of your excellent beak 'n muzzle caricatures of Napoleon and Kip. It was a pleasure to have you in my class this year. All my best to you.

Thanks heaps, Pete!

Always great to get encouragement - especially Emslie-style! I have to admit, when I was drawing the kiddies, I was thinking, "How would Pete draw these??" It helped!

Thanks again - hey, are you sure you don't want to teach 3rd year in Sept??? :)

I'd like to, Stacey, but I reckon I'd come up empty. I figure I taught you folks just about everything I know! Besides, it's best that you learn from other instructors who can give you a different perspective on things based on their own work experience.

One thing to keep in mind is that we instructors can only help point the way - the rest is up to you enterprising students to take that knowledge, analyze it, retain what seems applicable to your own work and discard what may not. I have faith in you and I know you're going to grab that torch and run with it. Our satisfaction in teaching is in seeing the next generation go on to accomplish great things!

Good point Pete, I definitely agree - you do learn more from the variety of teachers, and from the people around you who all have different styles.

I shall certainly do my best to run with that torch though, I promise you that!

Someone is encouraging Stacey to run with fire!! Oh dear.

lqtm. I agree....encouraging Stacey and fire can only lead to frenzied chaos and innocent burn victims.

I see... so my own pals are attempting to warn the world of my so-called pyro abilities. Well now, let's see what my book of matchsticks has to say about that!!

ps - I can never even light a match. I am rather gimpy that way.

Talking to your matchsticks? I wonder what they tell you. I bet they sound like these two guys:
