Last but not least....!!

Here is our last assignment of the year, which was due today!!!

Our diagonal pan from layout class, which we had to digitally paint. I had fun, but I was definitely running out of steam this week, especially since it's so close to the finish line!

SECOND YEAR IS DONE-O!!!!
Now for laps of excited frantic running around Oakville!
Hmm, maybe I'll have enough energy to just run home to Winnipeg!

No, in a couple hours I will crash majorly.
It's been a crazy year!! And I am SO excited for summer, yippee-kay-yay!!

Two Hobos and a Baby

Here is our last storyboard of the year! Wowza! [That's my own title for it...how extremely original!]

We were given the scenario and character descriptions, and we had to board the scene. And there was a "no tone" rule with this one, only linework. I cheated on panel 1....[insert evil laugh here]

One more painting assignment to go, and Second Year is officially over!
CRAZY HAPS!!

Background for Beak, Napoleon

Phew, finally finished this wonkified background for my beak animation [Napoleon]. I wanted something fun and graphic-y and Bugs Bunny-esque... it's actually quite difficult to do a proper wonky style!

Extra thanks to my painting teach, Mike, for his expert wonky advice on this! I am thinking perhaps I might re-cleanup my animation in Flash to colour it and get a nice vector-ish line to match this background....hmmmm....summer promises to be full of experiments in creativity!

ONE MORE WEEK LEFT!!
I cannot wait.
Can NOT.

Drawrings from da zoo

Finally I am getting to post a few of these drawings from the zoo a few weeks ago. Or - years ago? I don't know, this year has felt like both one loooooong day, and 8 years! Don't ask me to explain that :)

As you can see from my drawrings, I LOVED the orangutans! They were so fun to watch and draw. I could have spent all day there - and we definitely spent most of our time there. I really liked the rhino and elephant too.... maybe I'll post some sketches of those later. I can't wait to have some more time to experiment and do all these things I have been putting off 'cause of school chaos!

Anyhoo, I loved the big furry guy. He was awesome!
Animals are grand to sketch :)

Demo Reel v1.0

Here's the first version of my demo reel...I shall continue to change and add to it when I get more experience [specifically 3D] under my belt.

For now, this is what I have to send to the Disney peeps for the Internship deadline tomorrow. I can't even believe how many hoops you have to jump through to apply...it is crazy times!!! I am just elated I even got it in on time, sheesh capeesh.

Props go to Cody-man for helping me find a groovy track for my first reel o' demo. Thanks muchos, bro!

Stay tuned for v1.1....coming to a computer screen near you, Summer 2007.

Mo' life drawrin'

Yeah.

It's Week 12, and I don't even know which way I am going anymore!! Pant...pant....3...more...weeks...to...go.....!!

Just finished my massive Western character design assignment... [which I practically killed myself to finish for today...and when I got to class I found out it was extended 'til Friday. Egad!!!].....

ANYHOO, I shall post those when I have some coloured up, I wanna spend some time on finishing them with colour and such, esp since I busted my butt on the designs and poses.

In the meanwhile [my new word of the day], here are a few life drawings from this past week. I think some of these might make my final portfolio [due this Thursday!!]. The first 3 are 30 secs, the last 2 are 5 minutes. Takes me a while to get into the colour frame of mind, but it's so nice when experimenting works!

On a different note - I love Spring in Oakville! No snow left for quite a while now, and we have enjoyed walking to Tims for coffee....aahhhh....any snow left in the Peg?

Ah, spring has sprung :)
